Acácio José Dianin took over Castelhana Farm, in Minas Gerais, Brazil, as he belongs to the fourth generation of this long-established family of coffee growers. It includes 253 hectares of protected area supporting professional projects such as reforestation (planting of native trees), raising and preserving the fauna and flora, and management of waste disposal.
In the name of his fondness for coffee growing and technology, Dianin was one of the first to apply the irrigation system in the Brazilian region of Cerrado Mineiro. So he set the high quality for his coffee beans.
Therefore, Nucoffee and Castelhana Farm paired up for a coffee culture based on greater knowledge, conection, results, productivity and closer relationship between specialists and all employees. Together, they found a more delightful way of creating aroma, taste and sensations on a daily basis.
Acaia is a unique variety because it is derived from a cross of Typica and Bourbon varieties. It originated in Brazil and is a cultivar closely related to Mundo Novo. Acaia produces larger coffee cherries and beans.
