Teodora first tasted and selected this coffee during her trip to Colombia. While there, she had the joy of meeting some of the 96 independent women farmers who are part of the Forest Academy and the Huila Condor Project - an initiative of Forest Coffee, our long-standing partners.
The project was born from the need to create a dedicated space for women coffee producers in Huila, empowering them to grow, thrive, and build a strong community around specialty coffee within an industry that has traditionally been dominated by men. By encouraging collaboration and fostering a sense of community among women producers, this initiative not only promotes sustainable growth but also enhances the visibility of women’s contributions to the coffee sector in Colombia.
This coffee undergoes a process that starts with manual selection of ripe red cherries, followed by the traditional washed method with variable fermentation times ranging from 24 to 36 hours. Drying is achieved through sun exposure for 15-20 days.
