Valle Inca is an organization working with specialty coffee producers in southern Peru. Founded just eight years ago, it now collaborates with over 400 farming families, supporting more than 700 households. Most producers manage small farms of around two hectares, with coffee ranging from consistent volume lots to competition-level microlots. Agustin Ccasa Ccoyo’s farm, Finca Progreso, is one of them.
The farm offers ideal conditions for slow ripening and high-density coffee, though it is extremely difficult to access. This isolation fosters a highly intentional way of life, supported by solar power, a wood-fired kitchen, and a small, self-sustaining ecosystem.
Maragogipe is a variety prized for its refined cup profile. Discovered in 1870 near the Brazilian city of the same name, it is a natural mutation of Typica, known for its large bean size.
